How Do You Get The Word Out About Your Business?
The first thing to mention is that consistent messaging is also key. You want to make sure that you are sending out the same message across multiple channels.
Let people know who you are and how you or your product can help them.
A few cheap ways to get the word out about your small business are:
Industry Trade Publications & Magazines: Every single market has publications and magazines that summarize what’s happening in the industry. You can write an article for the publication or magazine for free, and this is a great way to get free advertising.
Local Chamber of Commerce: Try to get a link on the blog or the website from your local COC. The chamber gives your reputation a boost. Now be warned that you might have to pay to become a member, but it is well worth it. You instantly boost your credibility with your local community.
Social Media: Although social media is difficult to navigate, this is a great way to connect with your potential customers. Social media is free, but every social platform is NOT for you…
This is where understanding your customers comes in…if you understand who your customer is and where they hang out, this will help you pick the right platform and get in front of your customers!! B2C is great for Facebook. B2B is not as good for Facebook… linkedin might be better.
SMS marketing: Aka short message marketing…text messaging. This type of marketing has a 90% open rate…a focused message to your potential customers.
Make sure if you are going to send text messages, that you are sending out new and fresh information and not just spammy crap that no-one will engage with…
The whole point is to build the relationship and get your customers to respond, remember that important piece of the puzzle!!
